School Lane Charter School Renovation Project
We are happy to announce Bensalem Township has approved School Lane
Charter School’s construction project. The addition consists of adding a
two-story building adjacent to the existing school building along Route 13
and a gymnasium behind the new building. The façade of the new building will
match the existing historic brick layout of the existing building along
Route 13.
The new school building will house School Lane Charter School’s middle
school classrooms with nine classrooms and two small instructional rooms.
This will allow us to reduce class size from 25 students to 22 students. The
gymnasium has a high school regulation court and state of art sound system.
In addition to the new school buildings, there will be significant improvements along the school property including curbs and sidewalks along Route 13 as well as lights to comply with the Township’s Route 13 Revitalization plan. There will also be a one-way driveway off Route 13 entering the schools property for school buses only. This will improve traffic flow and reduce bus traffic on the surrounding streets behind the school. There will also be new drainage pipes along the back of the school yard to reduce the water flow onto Finley Road as well as Route 13.
School Lane Charter School is expecting to break ground within the next several months. School Lane Charter School has received all of Bensalem Township’s approval for the project. The last approval School Lane Charter School is waiting for is from Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). With this in place, Bensalem Township will issue building permits and our construction manager will mobilize and break ground!
